MFF: On Location #8 Grand Canyon Adventure- Shana and Cree

Episode 8 of "MFF: On Location" for "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk" looks at two of the main characters from the film: Shana Watahomigie and her daughter, Cree. Both members of the Havasupai tribe, which has roots in the Grand Canyon dating back hundreds of years, Shana and Cree offer a time-honored perspective of The Grand Canyon. As the first Colorado River guide from her tribe Shana also helped to navigate on the expedition down The Colorado River that is depicted in the film.

MFF: On Location #7 Grand Canyon Adventure- Creating 3D Bubbles

Episode 7 of "MFF: On Location" for "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk" examines the making of the exhilarating opening sequence to the film. Utilizing the latest in computer generated imagery, MacGillivray Freeman Films produced an awe-inspiring introduction that features 3D bubbles floating out into the audience. Look behind the scenes to see how these amazing effects were created and how the team tackled some of the obstacles that came with designing such a technologically advanced sequence.

MFF: On Location #6 - Grand Canyon Adventure - Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Episode 6 of "MFF: On Location" for "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk" looks at two of the main characters from the film: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and his daughter, Kick Kennedy. In the footsteps of his father, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has devoted his life to water conservation through founding the Waterkeeper Alliance. In Grand Canyon Adventure, Bobby offers a unique perspective on the water crisis as he traveled down the Colorado River 40 years ago with his father--giving him the ability to easily compare and contrast the river from yesterday to today. His daughter, Kick, accompanies him on the journey, making it a special trip for the both of them as they savor the last few months together before she leaves home to travel off to college.

Episode 5 of "MFF: On Location" for "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk" looks at two of the main characters from the film: Wade & Tara Davis. One of the real-life inspirations for the character of Indiana Jones, the film follows Wade Davis as he travels down The Colorado River accompanied by his daughter, Tara. Wade viewed the rafting expedition as one last chance to share a true father-daughter experience between him and Tara as she was going off to college just a month after the film takes place.

Composer Steve Wood worked closely with Dave Matthews Band bass player Stefan Lessard to bring the group's music to the IMAX screen. The final product is a majestic blend of classic Dave Matthews Band paired with the beautiful setting of The Grand Canyon.
